Skater Nation

Almost but not quite...

I remember the good old days of University when JamieO and I would try and bend the programming of a Steep Slope Sliders demo on the Sega Saturn as way to create our own skateboarding game. This was before one of my all time hero’s Tony Hawk released his ‘proper’ skateboarding game on the Play Station. I know it's intuitive because I have been a 'real' skateboarder for over 20 years!

Doodle Jump - BE WARNED: Insanely Addictive!

Doodle Jump, the most addictive game ever?

Doodle jump comes with a warning and rightly so! It is wonderfully addictive but never before has a game lead me so close to the complete obliteration my shiny new 3rd gen iPod touch! Be warned! Doodle Jump is a super simplistic, endurance/survival game where it is your job to navigate your character onwards and upwards to a worthy high score.

Starfruit Games cutesy puzzler topple's us over

Physics games are nothing new on the iPhone platform, we have Topple, Physics... actually there are tons of physics games I could mention! But, none of them have that authentic cutesy cutesy Japanese feel that you may find on the DS platform. This is where Tumbledrop comes in. Created by Starfruit games, Tumbledrop is a vibrant, colourful, and wonderfully executed cute physics based puzzle game. Esteemed UK Manga artist Hayden Scott-Baron, AKA Dock is the guy responsible for the dev of Tumbledrop and it shows a plenty!

The Simpsons Arcade iPhone Review

The Simpsons Arcade

Doh! The Simpsons come to iPhone.

The Simpsons is still an amazing show even after all these years, but if there is one thing that the show is guilty of, it’s allowing it’s brand identity as a supposed catalyst for making video games. Apart from maybe the Konami release in the early 90’s I have tended to avoid Simpsons games! I love the show but the games are often very shallow and provide little interest to me.

2XL ATV Offroad

2XL Games brings ATV Offroad to the iPhone

From the moment you boot up 2XL's ATV Offroad on iPhone you will be amazed at the level of graphical presentation. This is a very good looking game indeed. The visuals remind me of the quality of the original Motorcross Madness on the PC. Obvioulsy some tweaking has been done on the iPhone version and it now looks even sweeter,

Hold your iPhone up vertically with two hands and switch between shakes, or taps as both thumbs hammer along to the rhythm of three separate lanes of descending icons. Deck the Halls with Blood and Holly

In Mad Finger Game's new survival action game Santa is not some jolly papa Elf, he is a brutal gnarler and he is going to protect his workshop's five Christmas presents by any means necessary. Therefore, any freakish thieves hoping to run away unscathed with an early free gift, had better hope that he has not just cracked open a top secret, green power-up crate and taken hold of a new weapon, because he will unleash his fury.
